Tomorrow: School Fundraiser Featuring Musical Comedy

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16

Quieting sibling fights and juggling after school activities are just two bullet points on a long To-Do list for any mom. Take a break and laugh about it at a new musical comedy coming to town on Thursday called Plus, money raised from ticket and raffle sales will benefit the education of those little ones that drive you crazy, but you can't help but love them.

Although "Mom's the Word" is a fun experience for moms, it's a great laugh for everyone that comes. It looks at the challenges of motherhood and was created by some of the original creators and cast members of "Momsense," which was performed for six years in the tri-state area. The show will benefit the Nanuet and Clarkstown Family Resource Centers. Another sponsor is the Rockland 21st Century Collaborative for Children & Youth.

"This is going to be so much fun and it's for a great cause," said Roseann Mercado, director of the Nanuet FRC. "I encourage everyone to go. It'll be benefitting two not-for-profits." Money raised will go toward family resource center programs such as before and after school programs, Kindergarten transitional support and parent-teacher workshops.

The show's creators and stars are Dana Covey, Amy Mandelbaum and Erika Radin who have six kids between them and have strong theatre backgrounds.
