Pancreatic Cancer Walk Honors Memory of Tracy Fitzgerald

The walk was at the Nanuet High School Track

Just earlier this month, Steve Jobs died and he was afflicted by Pancreatic Cancer. This past Saturday, it was a little windy, but the skies were clear for an annual pancreatic cancer walk. The $20 donations went to the Lustgarten Foundation for PC Research.

"It's such a nice day to come out and support a great cause like this," said Jackie Fitzgerald, a walker.

The event was at the Nanuet High School Track and in memory of Tracy Fitzgerald who passed away at the young age of 37, nearly nine years ago, from pancreatic cancer.  It was sponsored by her husband Michael Fitzgerald and assisted by family members.

"I want to thank all the people from the town for coming out and supporting this cause," said Michael. "It was a beautiful day of rememberance and fund raising.  We raised over $1,300 toward pancreatic cancer research.  Hopefully, our efforts will put an end to this terrible disease."
