Today: Nanuet Kids Host Lemon-aid Stand for Highview Playground

They'll be in front of Highview Elementary from noon - 4 p.m. today

Lemonade stands run by kids seem to be fading into a thing of the past, but some in Nanuet are reviving it in the name of their upcoming Highview Playground rebuilding project.

"Several local children will be doing their part to raise money for the rebuilding of Highview Playground. Katie Bottitta has been watching her father work for months on the Steering Committee," said Paula Bottitta. Her husband CJ is vice president of the Highview Playground Steering Committee. " Not a day goes by that doesn't see him making phone calls, attending meetings, or sending playground related e-mails.  So she decided she needed to step-up and do her part.

Katie asked several friends to help her run a lemonade stand and their first test-run was successful. Today, the kids are going to be in front of  from noon to 4 p.m. selling Lemon-Aid for the playground. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the playground.
